Charach Mages Guild Questline [Kildozery][100%]
Charach's modest chapter of the Mages Guild is mainly focused on providing services to the locals and to visitors passing through or staying on Stirk.
Guild members:
Ardavan Caralus - Level 25 Imperial Sorcerer (rank Wizard)
- Guildmaster of the chapter. Ardavan is an adept summoner, and occasionally teaches seminars on the subject of Conjuration for students belonging to the Cyrodiil, Hammerfell, and Summerset branches of the Guild.
Estarrion - Level 13 High Elf Enchanter (rank Conjurer)
- A competent, haughty enchanter who doesn't think much of the Guild's typical clientele of sailors, farmers, and vacationers.
Lysandra Draco - Level 9 Imperial Alchemist (rank Journeyman)
- Busy, overworked alchemist who wishes she had more time to pursue her scholarly interests.
Edwyn Niniel - Level 8 Breton Nightblade (rank Evoker)
- Nightblade spell merchant
Llaldir - Level 5 Wood Elf Mage (rank Apprentice)
- Sells cheap spells, including water walking and water breathing (useful in the Abecean).
Kahali - Level 17 Redguard Guild Guide (rank Evoker)
- Talented guild guide, capable of long drops as far away as Kvatch.
Quest I: Five Types of Pearls
An homage to the Balmora quest, but with pearls instead of mushrooms. Lysandra wants to study pearls for their alchemical properties, but needs one of each kind for a proper survey: standard pearls, blue pearls, pink pearls, black pearls, and kardesh pearls. While normal pearls are common, the rest are harder to find. Lysandra recommends you speak with Ashamti, a pearl diver who can be found near the docks. Ashamti knows about an old Redguard shipwreck northwest of Olomachus (Mwezi) which was carrying a lot of pearls. Otherwise, they can be found in a few other places in AS, or randomly (rarely) in leveled lists. Lysandra will reward the player with some gold and a bottle of lily extract.
Quest II: Welcome Basket
An Altmer sorcerer with the Summerset Mages Guild named Calmanwe is visiting Charach, and plans to collaborate with Ardavan on a Conjuration project. Ardavan really wants to impress the visiting mage, and asks the player to deliver Calmanwe a welcome bundle of soul gems, scrolls, a bottle of Isquel, as well as a local delicacy from the Plaza Taverna, with his regards. Calmanwe is staying at the Sunset Lodge in the Coral Suite. Ardavan will reward the player with a Scroll of Summon Flame Atronach for the work.
Quest III: Unwanted Advances
Ugenring, a Bosmer resident of Charach, has been making increasingly elaborate (and unwanted) romantic overtures towards Lysandra Draco, much to her annoyance. She asks the player to figure out what his next big plan is, so that she can nip it in the bud. Ugenring will tell the player with some enthusiasm that he's going to give a "love potion" to Lysandra, while taking a "charisma potion" himself, the combination of which will finally make her come around. An exasperated Lysandra will ask the player to pretend to help Ugenring by offering to bring his homemade potions to the talented old alchemist Dra'Tahn in Anvil to be "fortified" (while actually getting Dra'Tahn to make sure they're nothing dangerous). Dra'Tahn will identify the "love potion" as a very poorly made attempt at a Drain Personality brew, which is likely to just make the drinker very sick and miserable. Dra'Tahn recommends swapping the potions and letting the wretch get a taste of his own medicine, but Lysandra wishes to avoid more trouble, and will ask the player to cast Demoralize on Ugenring and convince him that he'd have better prospects in Little Arenthia in Anvil. The choice is up to the player. If Ugenring drinks his nasty potion, he'll have a breakdown and join the crew of the next ship off of Stirk (leaving the game). If he's just demoralized, he'll relocate to the Sailor's Fluke Tavern in Anvil. Either way, his house will be up for grabs afterwards, and Lysandra will reward you with a few useful potions if you choose the gentler path.
Quest IV: And Stay Out!
Kingfisher Cave, on the northeast end of Stirk Isle, has been recently taken over by goblins of the Wave Reaver tribe. The Wave Reavers have historically given Stirk a wide berth due to the presence of the Navy, but with the closure of Duskwatch Keep, they've become emboldened. Kingfisher Cave has already been cleared out once by order of the Telvors, but the goblins just came right back. The Mages Guild has been asked to clear the cave again and deploy a permanent Daedric summon inside, to deter any third attempt by the goblins to come back. Permanent summons are fairly difficult, of course, and Ardavan asks the player to engage Calmanwe's assistance for this task. The player summons the Daedra (maybe an Auroran or a Golden Saint?) with a scroll given by Ardavan, then Calmanwe will lock the Daedra permanently to Kingfisher Cave. Ardavan will give the player a sum of gold for the job, as well as a greater soul gem if the player chooses to talk up Ardavan's character to Calmanwe while on the mission
Quest V: Rescue Divides-To-Iron
An Argonian member of the Guild named Divides-To-Iron left on an expedition some weeks ago, looking for some ruin out in the Abecean. Divides-To-Iron has been known to disappear for days and weeks at a time, but this is the longest he's ever been gone, and Ardavan is getting concerned. He asks the player to head up to the Mykoi Isles - technically part of Hammerfell - and ask the lighthouse keeper named Kalir if she's seen any sign of the mage. Kalir will let the player know that Divides-To-Iron did indeed stay with her for an evening before heading out to the dangerous sunken Ayleid citadel of Nagaiarelle. Upon investigation, the player will find the Argonian mage trapped in a chamber in the lower citadel, surviving on fish. Thanks to his Argonian physiology and Alteration talents, he hasn't drowned, and actually seems pretty serene about the situation (though of course conversation is impossible underwater). The player can help him escape via the secret button in the ruin, and either escort him all the way home or give him a scroll of Divine Intervention to skip the journey (but not underwater - the scroll will get ruined!). As a reward, Divides-To-Iron will give the player the relic he found in the depths of Nagaiarelle: Chillrend, a unique Ayleid shortsword made from moonstone.

Been progressing steadily since claim date. Got the quest stages and dialogue largely completed for the first three quests. Will start CS work this month and upload a wip esp by month end if all goes to plan.
Progressing slowly but steady. First two quests writing done. About half way through finalising dialogue for Unwanted Advances.
Started plugin (heavily wip and includes placeholders whilst I work). First draft completed for 3/5 quests (in Gdocs).
Progressed framework of plugin significantly. Tweaked some dialogue. Setup placeholders for questline's structure and journal staging.
Wee update. Progressing well.
Some more progress.
More progress. Be aware much of the dialogue is still very much wip and is actively getting fine tuned (though the fine tuning stage is very, very quick. Nearly finished with all quest dialogue and staging.
More progress. All 5 quests nearing finalisation.
More progress. Quest 1 finished. Estimate about 75% done.
Another wip. Applied a couple of basic scripts to two quest NPCs. tidied up more dialogue
Another update. Added a global to track if the PC's paid back the debt for "losing" (selling) the expensive welcome basket. Amended some dialogue.
Another wip

More progress
More progress. Dialogue pretty much done now. Another pass of sense checking, grammar etc required before playtesting starts.
Yet more wip. Very close to completing all dialogue.
Another day, another upload
Finished quest design. Spellchecked, validated, cleaned. Need to playtest and implement any fixes to issues found.
Merged in HeavenLees' updated Nagaiarelle file. This splits the dungeon into two cells to allow Divides-To-Iron to be placed in an air pocket. https://discord.com/channels/2617899105 ... 8904308748
Cleaned and will playtest using this new updated file.
