Anvil - The Recluse [mr.potato][Reviewed]

Kalin Thurion, a commoner in the Five Fathoms Flophouse, has barricaded himself inside his modest residence. He is convinced that he has contracted the curse of vampirism, and has resolved to waste away rather than succumb to his bloodthirsty urges.

Fortunately for Kalin, he is not in fact infected with vampirism, and actually just has a bad case of wasting consumption (which is much easier to cure in a world with magic). He is convinced that he met a vampire, though, and enjoyed a rousing evening with him at the Sailor's Fluke fight pit before drinking too much and blacking out.

The player may investigate the situation, and find Volanil, an Altmer who is in fact a vampire. As a member of the Vampyrum Order, however, Volanil seems to not be especially interested in converting random commoners in a tavern fight pit, and will simply admit that he brought Kalin home after their night out.

If the player really hates vampires, they can kill Volanil and get away with it by talking to the fight pit publican. Otherwise, Kalin will simply reward you with a bit of gold for assuaging his fears and curing his consumption.

The quest is ready for review. :o I mostly followed the claim to the letter, though I had to get a bit creative with making the quest completable even if the player kills Volanil. The edit to PC_i2-anv_Cira is intentional. Her default fight value meant that she joined combat every time. I also added a startscript that gives the pc all items and spells needed to complete the quest. Whoever is going to be reviewing this, feel free to clean it out.

Ready for merge

Misc.
Cleaned out the edits to the no longer existing "The Sailor's Fluke" cell

Placed the locked door in the correct int so it can be unlocked from dialogue, and linked it up with the Fighting Pit subcell

Placed the key to the door on the cupboard behind the bar.

Redirected the two lines of dialogue that were filtered to the old subcell to the new one.

Instead of setting your bounty to 0 when you tell the bartender you were killing a vampire, it now gets reduced by 1040 (1000 for murder, 40 for attacking), so you can't use this quest to clear any previous bounty.

Imulav will no longer try to forcegreet you if he's dead.

The other patrons will no longer try to fight you if they're dead.

PC_i2-anv_Imulav: Changed his class from Publican to Rogue so he will trade with you even if you have moon sugar (considering he's selling it himself), and so he doesn't get a bugged beds dialogue. Gave him a real weapon and upped his Short Blade skill. Gave him black hair to go with the black beard.

PC_i2-Anv_Kalin: Reduced his Alarm to 90 (how is he going to report a crime?). Switched his class to Glb_Comoner instead of the vanilla Commoner.

PC_i2-anv_Volanil: Made the PC and his name in his ID upper case, because otherwise that's bothering us forever.

Made it so that you don't need to be at stage 10 for Kalin to react to being cured with a spell, you can even do it without taking the quest at all now. This is a big logical leap for the player to take, but the alternative is that you've already cured the disease by the time he tells you about his affliction, which would suddenly bring up the "you cured me" dialogue once the stage gets set to 10.

Being a member of the Thieves Guild means Julius lets you in for free. That seemed sensible to me, given the Fluke is the TG base, even if Julius isn't a member.

Added a unique Background entry to Volanil, because otherwise he wouldn't have dialogue at all if you're not on the quest.

Removed the Khajiit local from the two new NPC scripts.

Removed auto-calc flag from the two NPCs that had it for validator reasons.

Cleaned out the test script.


Dialogue
General
"high elf"->"High Elf" and "altmer"->"Altmer" (races are always upper-case, except occasionally orcs)

"vampyrism"->"vampirism"

Added contractions (e.g. "you are"->"you're") throughout

Replaced a few . with ! for emphasis (and ? with ?!).

It was called "Sailor's Fluke Tavern" a few times, but the Tavern is not part of its name.

"in the fight pit"->"at the fight pit". None of those people are rats.

I added an extra line for stages 40 and 50, because without it there was some weird behaviour if you went straight for curing him with a spell.

Filtered the initial line one stage earlier and moved the addtopic to the first line it's actually mentioned in. This way it hyperlinks correctly immediately.

Generic
The three generic Fluke lines didn't have a PC_County filter or nolore exclusion.

The line for the main Fluke cell no longer plays for NPCs that are in the TG, because they're all upstairs and wouldn't have seen him. This way you can only ask the people in the main bar area.

Ready for merge v2

I just learned that the door to the fight pit is no longer supposed to be locked, so I've removed that whole interaction, including the custom door and the keys to it. The publican now only gets one simple line where he tells you where the Altmer is.
