[Book] The Sanctity of the Body

Post by Tiefling »

I think this book might fit well in a monastery, perhaps just for reference or maybe a praise-poem or chant? Otherwise it could fit in a temple, and be used as a sermon for the young, or just the general populace.

The Sanctity of the Body
The body of a man, the body of a woman, are blessed, within them dwells divine gift, they are temples to the gods, and testaments to their power and might. Feel your lungs, they are temples to Kyne, for they delight in her open sky, and sweet air, and with proper training, her awesome power. Feel your bones, a fine example of Shor’s strength, the might he left in Nirn, he also left in you. Feel your skull, the walls of the temple of Jhunal. Feel your Brain, the scholar therein. Feel your mind, the glorious chanting, which ever praises the gods. Feel your lips, feel the movement of them as you speak, these sing the pure words of Dibellas love, and sing sweet songs for the glory of the gods. These also shape the power of Kyne, for though it’s roots are in the throat, it’s meaning is in the lips and upon the tongue. Feel your hands, the flesh in them, the sinew. This is the grace and skill of Tsun, who is skilled in the way of war, this is the craft of Mara, who tends the good black soil. Feel your feet, they take you through creation, though the eye feasts on beauty, the feet seek it out. Feel your heart, it beats warmly, and though it thrums like a bull in the heat of battle, it lies still in the peaceful quiet, this is Stuhn’s gift, a heart for war and peace. These are the good gifts of the gods, these are the monuments to their glories.
