[Book] Winterhold, city of the Dunmers

A book you can find in Skyrim, Morrowind and maybe on Hightrock and Cyrodiil (although rarer there).

Even if us Dunmers are perfectly at ease in our Promised land, we never hesitate to venture outside. Since CE 887, as Morrowind joined the Empire, Dunmers settled in every cities of Tamriel, but nowhere as much as in Winterhold.
They are many, indeed, to be lured by the opportunities of the great capital of the Nords. Nammus, Hlaalus, Redorans, Telvannis even, all of them flocking to the streets of this proud city. The Academy, jewel of the Skyrim Mage Guild, is a beacon for some of them, but most came here for business, or in dire need of a second chance.
The Dunmer community is so important here that Winterhold almost deserves the right to be part of Morrowind!

Even if they observe the Empire rules, Dunmers can follow their own customs. Few of them had to abandon their ancestral traditions to adopt those of the Empire, on the contrary to their kin living in Cyrodiil. The community helps them, employs them, protect them. And there is a need for assistance, as all of our rough neighbours didn't accept their existence.
Racist or opportunistic nobles, populations upsetted by this minority inside of their city... Many are the enemies of the Dunmer of Winterhold. But as always, it is the duty of the Great House Hlaalu to extend the hand of friendship and ensure healthy relationships inside and between communities. We are the bridge-builders.

Winterhold is for our country a close trading partner (almost as important as Cyrodiil!), and dozens of ships sailed every days from our ports to the wide docks of Skyrim capital. East Empire Company, Briricca Company and so many others are engaged in this lucrative route, that connect Winterhold to our Promise Land. Despite the prejudices that plagued the Dunmers in Skyrim, it's thanks to them that Winterhold is so wealthy, so prosperous.

Anyway, the Dunmer aren't really a population in Winterhold during out timeframe. There are Dunmer there yes, but they dont become noticeable until after Tes 3 with the upheavals brought by the collapse of the tribunal causing a noticeable diaspora

I'd suggest re-writing this towards Cheydinal, which is more applicable.

So PGE3's informations concern only events between 427 and 432? This is a short timeframe. I understood that the "Current events" started soon after the Simulacrum, on the momentum of this period. So Dunmer refugees and merchants were flocking for at least 27 years (and probably more).

The books species they are "refugees" and the only causes of that which we have on record are after Tes 3 IE the collapse of the tribunal and subsequent religious upheavals and the Dunmer civil war. Given this was a book both in and out of universe publihed after tes 3....

Fair point. I thought the Simulacrum could have explained it too but if it isn't the case, nammu Dunmer, minor clans or Hlaalu members and Cheydinhal are a perfect match too.
